Masculinity: Who are our heroes?

Week 2 folder: “Cultural Studies, Multiculturalism, and Media Culture.” Sections from Jean Shinoda Bolen’s Gods in Every Man and Julia Wood’s Gendered Lives (on masculine stereotypes in the work place.) Journal 1: Discuss an example of one your own male heroes from the mass media.  Describe characteristics of the male gods and stereotypes in his character. Take three of the ways that Cultural Studies analyzes cultural artifacts to explain how you might deconstruct your hero’s image.
